kilnformed and cast glass by
Angela McFarland
My most recent body of work is called the Meander Series. I start by making a clay model, then create a mold of the model and cast the glass into the mold and fire it in a kiln. The model and the mold are destroyed after use, so each sculpture is truly one-of-a-kind. I also cut and polish
stone bases for the sculptures. One side of each piece is polished to a high gloss to provide a window for the depth and detail in the glass. The other side is sculpted and sandblasted with a soft matte finish.
You can find my wall and table sculptures at Artful Home.
I also make one-of-a-kind glass jewelry. You can find some of my jewelry work at the Phoenix Gallery Underground in Lawrence, KS or online in my shop!
